I was living in Las … I was living in Las Vegas New Mexico at the time this was filmed. I was late to work at times because they closed off the street I lived on to film scenes. I asked the security to write me an excuse. of course they declined. I thought it would have been fun to get an autograph of one of the actors, but, that never happened either…
@lgnlint You don’t … @lgnlint You don’t believe me? Read more on the genre; there’s some good essays out there, not to mention watch more westerns, especially ones by Sam Peckinpah.
That’s a stupid and ignorant thing to say if westerns have to take place in the old west. Look deeper and you’ll maybe understand…
@lgnlint Westerns … @lgnlint Westerns are like Noir. Both don’t adhere to single period but rather various themes. Just because NCFOM took place in the modern era does not mean it can’t be a western. It has many elements of the genre: Sheriff, search for money, anti-hero, unstoppable forces of evil, and shootouts as well as having the common themes of good vs. evil, fate, cynicism, and justified violence.
Message simple, … Message simple, good guys never win, and those that sell their souls to the devil end up being rock and roll stars. By its very nature it is CONTRIVED. Contrived things like coin flipping. Just because it’s “different” doesn’t make it good. If I deficate on a canvas its still shit, even if it smells like art. It’s not dumb people who don’t get the movie. The real dumb ones are people who make a big deal about “getting it”; congratulations, the king is pleased that you say you cant see his penis.
This movie has got … This movie has got same kind of landscape treatment as Sam Peckinpah’s ‘Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Gracia’. Both has a very ‘matter-of-fact’ ending. No qualms about morality tale!!
I guess if you … I guess if you consider cowboy hats to be a western element then yeah I guess, but that was about the extent of it since the story took place in modern times.
How immature of you … How immature of you. I was just being honest, I can assure you I am capable of appreciating works more than someone whose name is mehgan fox…..
