Aaron Tippin — Country Music Singer — American Patriot
Tippin began performing in local honky tonks in the 1970’s. He competed on the TNN show “You Can Be A Star” in 1985 landed a songwriter’s contract and moved to Music City in 86. Always a focused and purposeful man, Aaron created a work routine that was spartan in it’s intensity. He worked the midnight shift at a factory in Kentucky, commuted to Music Row to write songs, did his late afternoon strength training, went to bed, got up and did the whole routine over again, day after day. The dedication paid off. He won barbell competitions, and Charley Pride, David Ball, Mark Collie and others recorded his songs.
Tippin performed his first Nashville nightclub show in 1990, and it earned him a contract with RCA. His ambitious first single “You’ve Got to Stand for Something” cracked the Top 10 in 1991, and 1992’s “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong With the Radio” stayed at No. 1 for three weeks. Tippin scored string of Top 10 hits for RCA. (In all, he charted 19 songs for the label.) Five of his RCA albums went gold and one platinum. He moved to Lyric Street in 1998 and charted a No. 1 with the raucous “Kiss This” (co-written with wife Thea) in 2000.
In the wake of 9/11, his patriotic anthem “Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly” touched a nation. Performing for Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan has become a tradition for Aaron. The past several years during the Thanksgiving holiday, he and band have traveled for the purpose of performing for our brave soldiers. “Every time we go over there they always tell me what a blessing it is for me to come and perform for them,” says Tippin. “It’s more of a blessing for me than they’ll ever know.” While touring in the U.S., Tippin regularly donates his time performing for charities and special events that honor the U.S. military. He is also the spokesman for the Paralyzed Veterans of America and for the Armed Services YMCA.
Never one to rest on his laurels, Aaron puts as much time and energy into planning his live shows today, as he did back in 1985 when he just wanted to be heard. The Hit filled concert is constantly changing and evolving into a fresh show each year for the audience’s. Fans love the music and appreciate Aaron’s friendly nature in always taking time to meet each one of them after every show. Concert promoter’s are always surprised by his hard work ethic and willingness to assist in interview’s, radio station contest’s and concert marketing.
On top of being one of the greatest performers to hit the country music scene, Aaron also has many other talents. He became a commercial pilot at the age of 17. He owns 4 planes and is also a helicopter pilot. He is an avid hunter and spends personal time with his boys, teaching them how to hunt, fish and enjoy the great outdoors.
And don’t think his talents end there, you can add welder, truck driver, body builder, and wine maker to the list. Yes wine maker! Aaron has his own winery and is constantly creating different types of wine. He and Thea love to visit wineries when he has time off.

Lyrics. Guess as a lover I have a ways to go.
When someone wants you they should just say it’s so
But you’ll understand if you’ll take my hand
Then we can dance real slow to something on the radio
Listen to the radio, oh listen to the radio
Let’s spend the night together
Baby don’t go, they sing it on the radio
I try to find a way to explain to you
What’s on my mind and not sound so plain to you
but you’ll realise if you close your eyes
the feelings my words can’t show
They’re playing on the radio
Listen to the radio, oh listen to the radio
Let’s spend the night together
Baby don’t go, they sing it on the radio
The words I’d say don’t seem to sound as real
The songs they play, that’s how I really feel
So listen to the radio, oh listen to the radio
Let’s spend the night together baby don’t go
They sing it on the radio
Don Williams (born May 27, 1939 in Floydada, Texas), is a country singer and songwriter. He grew up in Portland, Texas and attended Gregory-Portland High School, from which he graduated in 1958. After seven years with the folk-pop group Pozo Seco Singers, he began his solo career in 1971, singing popular ballads and amassing 17 number one hits.
His straightforward vocals, soft tones, and an imposing build earned him the nickname “The Gentle Giant” of Country Music.
Without a doubt Williams, whose hits with the likes of Good Ole Boys Like Me, I Believe In You, Love Is On A Roll, Amanda, Tulsa Time and Listen To The Radio has always had a knack for finding songs that speak directly to people’s hearts.

The Ham Band is Andrew (G3WZZ/OZ1XJ/OZ5E), his wife Lissa and a group of Nashville session musicians. All the songs are about amateur radio and the booklet which comes with the “Seek You” CD tells the whole story of contests, dx-peditions, antennas etc.
The Ham Band has just finished their new song/video which describes the whole process of building a modern amateur radio station and at the same time enables the listener/viewer to learn Morse code – yes all the letters and numbers are in there! The video lasts about 20 minutes and there are 19 musicians playing in three different musical styles (French Musette, Viennese Waltz and German Oompah). The music changes key 24 times which means that this musical work may get into the Guinness Book of World Records!
You can view the first quarter (about 5 minutes) of the video for free at www.hamband.com

http://www.myspace.com/rosieandthethorns A light-hearted look at my trip to Tamworth this year as a Toyota Star Maker Finalist
First festival with my new Tanglewood guitar! (TW45-DLX-B)
Some of the other great acts we saw while there were: The Remains, The Bostocks with Smokin’ Joe Robinson, Chris Wilson & Sarah Carrol with The Pirates of Beer, Casey Watt, Danny Hooper, The Perch Creek Family Jug Band, Cassandra Smiles, 8 Ball Aitkin and late late Funk Town…
More info:
2008 Toyota Star Maker finalist Rosie Sutherland is getting ready to unleash her solo album on the world. Rosie was the only girl in cult surf band The Val Dusty Experiment. Now she fronts her own band of tight, experienced players and combines well-crafted pop tunes and a sweet vocal delivery in an honest and enjoyable style. She was selected as a 2008 Toyota Star Maker finalist gaining TV/radio/newspaper attention to her music. In August she is singing harmonies with The Brown Birds from Windy Hill at Byron’s Splendour in the Grass.
Her music has been receiving airplay on ABC Radio, Tamworth Festival FM, a variety of Australian community radio stations including FBi 94.5 Sydney, 2BBB Bellingen and featured on Doug Lang’s Roots/Folk/Americana program ‘Better Days’ CFRO 102.7FM in Vancouver, Canada.
Rosie’s upcoming album sits somewhere a little outside Pop or Rock. Simple song structures and vocal harmonies allude to Folk and a little Country, with plenty of catchy choruses and solid rhythms for her accomplished band to drive along. Her music has evoked comparisons as diverse as Shelby Lynne, Cat Power, Fleetwood Mac and Tracy Chapman.
“In my music, I hope that I can describe feelings and experiences in a way that people can relate to, and help people work out what it is they should be encouraging and cherishing in themselves and those around them.
“I write songs about everyday things: sadness, problems with friends and lovers, children growing up”
Rosie has been writing for her solo album for over a year and playing regularly to NSW North Coast audiences. A strong band has formed during the development of the songs: Mark Wells (lead guitar), Geoff Dixon (bass), Dan Power (drums) and Princess Leah (backing vocals). They have played support for various acts (incl. Grant Walmsley’s Agents of Peace, Louis Tillett, Dan England, Andrew Kidman, Crow Feather…) along the East Coast, from Sydney to Noosa Heads. They took their acoustic show to the 2008 Tamworth Country Music Festival playing gigs and invitation spots at major outdoor venues (see calendar).
A Demo EP is available now and includes 6 album demos plus a live track from the Hotel Great Northern, Byron Bay. With the upcoming self-release of her album, Rosie hopes to reach a wider audience playing at venues & festivals all over the country.

“Very U.S. underground… 1968 meets the better part of early 1990s. Nice.”
