What do I need to watch out for? … And so on and so forth … Sometimes it seems like the stream of questions is never ending. So let me just answer one question right now … Probably the most important part of making wine if you are newcomer is to start out with a really good recipe as a base. One of the things that has always limited what you could do in a kitchen remodel was making it so the stove, oven, and microwave can have their exhaust sent out of the house. This use to mean putting them on an exterior wall or installing a stove hood over them. This has all changed with the exhaust fans that are built into the stove. For example, the downdraft cooktop pops up right out of the stove top and vents down below the cooktop. This feature allows you to have a stove anywhere and is particularly good for islands stoves or houses with kitchen on the interior of the house.

Always use clean fruit that comes from a trusted source (local farms are the best), always ferment the wine in an absolutely clean jug. This includes making sure there is no residual soap in it!
