yeah well if every … yeah well if every critique was positive then good rock music wouldn’t exist… it would be a flood with emo’s & kareoki shows (idol) like the last decade… ok if they’re not trying to make more money I wish they’d just keep this on the down low & let it promote itself… which it wouldn’t.
pfft dude if you … pfft dude if you don’t like it don’t listen your musical critique is stupid and auidoslave sucked a travesty of both good bands this however is musicians creating not trying to make more money
Kashmire all … Kashmire all over this band.. the main reason being these guys have no history together & the songs reflect their sound.. average! The only famous band I can think of who did this well are audioslave but thats because tom morello is a genius.. however only for the first album.
@475thMrBad yeah … @475thMrBad yeah I’m still trying to wrap my head around that one..when do they do the low one, then the high one?.. I still can’t “feel” the pattern.
@austingunsmoke I’d … @austingunsmoke I’d say I hear Zep riffs all over this CD (In my Time of Dying on this one) . Vintage tones for sure…and think about it, it’s also what JPJ thinks is good guitar and drumming. If the singer sounded like Plant then it would be too much of a Zep re-tread – although some say it sounds more like QOTSA with a hot new bassist……They are putting out another CD. This one was just the warm up – getting used to playing together. The next will knock our socks off.
Does anyone else … Does anyone else hear just a tad of “Physical Graffiti” here? Not the vocals so much but the riffing and drum tones.Well I’m just really giving these guys a good listen tonight and they’re coming up on Austin City Limits here where I’m at in an hour…I’m glad somebody is doing some heavy stuff that is sounding authentically creative and fresh.Great to hear Jones playing so well/with power.Hope they stick around for a few albums….maybe they can expand this sound even more into some new terrain!
This entire album … This entire album is absolutely fantastic. It’s got such a different style to it that i feel is keeping music alive; even revitalizing it. QotSA is by far my favorite band of all time, and i don’t know just how big a following they have; how “mainstream” they actually are, but i feel that Homme is a strong force in today’s music industry. i am not just saying that as a fan either; but between the music and lyrics being written, it’s separating it from everything else.

The riff which …
The riff which begins at 2:44 is epic, but the riff which starts like a minute in on
“Elephant” by Them Crooked Vultures is amazing.
Finally Good Rock and Roll is making a comeback

So did mine, I thought they’d full descended 18 years ago but that riff just put my boys a good inch closer to sea level.
